About

Heyyy,

I’m Courtney!

Iโ€™m a wife, a mom of five, a homemaker, and the voice behind Harder Knocks. Our family has been through many seasons of transition over the years, so we know loss, moves, and hard. But through it all, God is faithful, and we are extremely blessed to be in the hands of our loving Father, who uses every circumstance as an opportunity to grow in the likeness of Christ.

Harder Knocks began because I realized people across the country are suffering from a lack of discipleship, genuine friendship, and encouragement in their spiritual growth in Christ. While I know the ideal is face-to-face discipleship, we can still use the tools and resources we have to strengthen, inspire, and train people for the kingdom of God, and that is what I intend to do here.

I hope to make this space as communal as possible, which is why I ask a question at the end of every article. I want to cultivate a sense of belonging, sisterhood, and friendship even online.

Whether youโ€™re here for faith, homemaking, food, wellness, or just because you happened to land on this page. Iโ€™m really glad youโ€™re here!

FAQ

My husband is known for coming up with the best nicknames, and this one was no exception! When I was brainstorming a name for the blog, he said, โ€œYou should call it Harder Knocksโ€”it’s a play on our last name, and it reflects all the adversity you’ve overcome.โ€ I loved it instantly.

I started dabbling in Christianity in December 2011, but everything changed in April 2012 when I fully committed my life to Christ, and Iโ€™ve never looked back!
